JULIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!

Name:    Julie         Best guess as to breed:   Shepherd lab mix

Best guess as to age:  14 weeks as of 2/7     SEX:  Female

Approximately Weight:  15 lbs

Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Young puppy, frequent potty breaks and socialization needed.

Hello, my name is Julie and I'm an 14-week- old, 15 pound, female, shepherd lab mix puppy. Right now my brothers and I are at the shelter in South Carolina. But we're super excited to get to DC to start looking for our very own forever homes.

Everyone that meets us says that we are very sweet and loving. We LOVE to give kisses. We're learning to kiss nicely, but sometimes we get super excited and slobber all over your face, sorry! Especially if you sit on the ground with us. We just can't help it. We luuuuuv you! We also love to wrap our arms around you to give hugs and love to spoon with people, other dogs, or each other!.

The nice people at the shelter say that they've never seen more wiggly bums in their lives and it looks like our tails are going to wag right off. We're super happy all the time and can be pretty goofy, too. The nice people at the shelter say we're always good for a laugh, even when we're getting into mischief.

We love our treats and breakfast, and lunch, and dinner ... really any food will do! We're also learning that if you listen very carefully and do what your told, you get more treats and goodies. We would love to show you how smart we are, if you have treats that is!

We're pretty energetic and love a good romp, but we also love cuddling up for a nap after we're finished playing. We get along great with other each other and would do well in a home with another dog. But we're fine on our own, as long as we get some trips to the dog park. We would probably do great in a home with human siblings, as long as we're supervised all the time because we can get really excited.

Due to a puppy's need for attention and frequent bathroom excursions, we do not adopt dogs under 5 months of age to homes where no one is home during the day. This means no 9-5ers, unless you commit to hiring a dog walker to come multiple times a day.

Julie is not old enough to have had all of her vaccines. It will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, she is at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.

Due to her young age, Julie has not been spayed. As part of the adoption contract, it will be your responsibility, as the adopter, to ensure that this is done no later than 5/1/18!

Like most puppies, Julie will need to work on her housetraining. She will also need to go to obedience school so she can grow into a well-socialized dog!

The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which includes the cost of transport from the shelter and routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please download our  Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Kristen at [email protected].
